1966 Finnish Vintage Silver and Quartz Pendant Necklace by Elis Kauppi - 18 inch length
A super unique Finnish Modernist pendant necklace by sought after designer Elis Kauppi, for you to drool over.
Two large arced wedges of silver meet along a central rod that bisects the oval pendant form. Seemingly floating in the center are 4 faceted clear quartz crystals. The well-sized pendant hangs from a trio of flat circular links which easily fit over the included UnoAErre biker link chain.
Pendant measures 35.2mm wide x 46.3mm length overall with rings. Piece is signed and dated for maker and year with complete Finnish hallmarks for silver purity and location.
Elis Kauppi set Finland on the map for Modernist jewelry design in the 1950s and 1960s. He started his own company, Kupittaan Kulta, when has was only 24 years old.
Piece is in excellent vintage condition with normal age related wear.

The pendant may have come earlier, but I retrieved it yesterday evening …. and I L O V E it! Here you can see it on the rounded box chain which complements the rounded triangle of the pendant. How wonderful is that! It’s like “They were meant to go together.” Because they are both 18 K gold, the color-match is perfect. Once again, Jill, we hit the bull’s eye dead center. What more can I say but, once again, “Thank you.” You’re absolutely the best.
