Vintage Swedish Sterling Silver Tape Loom Pendant - Signed
A tape loom was a small rigid device traditionally used from the 17th to 19th centuries to weave narrow, sturdy fabric bands, tapes or wool bindings for clothes, aprons, bags, and furniture. The slots and holes for warping were held steady on a lap or table. A shuttle was used to weave the weft.
This silver pendant is small version of a shuttle. Long and detailed with cutouts for holding weft fibers.
Corresponding loom pendant is available here.
This large pendant measures 0.4 x 2 inches overall drop, weighs 3.49 grams and has Swedish stamps for maker, year, silver purity and location. Condition is excellent with normal age-related wear.
