1919 Swedish Antique 18k Longuard Biker Link Chain with Dog Clip - 28 inch necklace length
Wear this antique longuard chain as a versatile double strand necklace with swivel dog clip clasp. Guard chains were popular in the Victorian era and women would wear them in various configurations, doubling or tripling the long length for different looks. This one has been configured to have an adjustable doubled chain on one side.
This necklace has a swivel dog clip which clasps by clipping it over the looped chain. You can wear it in the front or to the side to attach and display your charm collection. See photos for styling inspiration.
Overall chain length measures 40 inches x 1.8mm wide. When worn as an even length double strand necklace, it measures approximately 28 inches long. Piece weighs 18.43 grams and is in excellent antique condition.
Dated 1919 and signed for maker David Andersen of Stockholm, Sweden. Piece has Swedish hallmarks for maker, date, location, and gold purity.
Piece is made of solid 18k yellow gold in a biker link pattern. This link style is particularly strong and durable. The color is wonderfully buttery yellow. 18k gold swivel dog clip is well working and secure.

The pendant may have come earlier, but I retrieved it yesterday evening …. and I L O V E it! Here you can see it on the rounded box chain which complements the rounded triangle of the pendant. How wonderful is that! It’s like “They were meant to go together.” Because they are both 18 K gold, the color-match is perfect. Once again, Jill, we hit the bull’s eye dead center. What more can I say but, once again, “Thank you.” You’re absolutely the best.
