When I brought this watch to be serviced, my watch guy lit up, “oooo a Gubelin!” I’m not a watch expert but he is - and he’s EXCITED about this watch.

I’m excited about this watch too. But for me it’s a gorgeous bracelet that can also tell the time. How cool is that? Not to mention it’s prettier than an Apple Watch and never needs to be charged.

Gübelin is a Swiss brand founded in 1854 as a small watchmaker's shop in Lucerne, Switzerland by Maurice Breitschmid. In 1886 his daughter, Bertha Breitschmid, married his apprentice, Eduard Gübelin and (in old timey fashion), the men then became business partners. They developed that small watchmakers shop into a prestigious luxury brand, Gübelin, of the likes of Patek Philippe or Rolex.

This piece is comprised of a movement and case by Gübelin crafted in 18k gold. The diameter measures 15.6mm and has marks for maker and gold purity.

The gold band is made by renowned Swedish goldsmith, Rey Urban in 1960. The band was likely designed specifically to pair with this movement as the entire watch ties together as one complete design.

I love the sleek double skinny bracelet band - elegant but not flashy. The neutral dial with gold markers is perfectly understated. This design really allows the color and polish of the GOLD to be highlighted.

Perfect for someone with a smaller wrist 6.25 inches or smaller. My wrist is about 6.5 inches and this is *just* barely too small for me.

Watch has recently been serviced and keeps good time. As it’s a manual movement, it needs to be wound daily, but never needs a battery!
