Vintage 1950s Double-link necklace - Solid 18k gold - 18 inch length

Beautiful vintage 18K gold, 18 inch length, 15.3 grams, graduated double-link necklace. Handmade in Helsingborg, Sweden by Erik Sonessons Goldsmith Workshop, signed KEGS, active 1950-1956.

This link type is called a double-link. Pairs of links run the length - like two curb chains delicately soldered, link by link, to form a double length of links. 

Links are gradually smaller and larger to elegantly transition around your neck. Imagine making these individual links to perfectly create that gradation - I find this level of goldsmithing astonishing in its handmade precision.

I love the smooth movement of this gold link style, it languidly follows the form of your collarbone.
