Antique 18k gold Double Strand Skinny Elongated Chain - Longuard Chain with Swivel Dog Clip - 20.25 inch length
This chain was converted at some point from a longuard or muff chain, into a wearable double strand necklace. Guard chains were popular in the Victorian era and women would wear them in various configurations, doubling or tripling the long length for different looks.
This necklace has our favorite clasp configuration, a swivel dog clip and oversized spring clasp. You can wear these in the front to attach and display your charm collection, or wear in the back for a one-and-one double strand look.
Necklace length measures approximately 20.25 inches with each strand 2.4mm wide. Piece weighs 15.75 grams and is in excellent antique condition.
Piece is made of solid 18k yellow gold with a link pattern of one elongated link then one round link. The color is wonderfully buttery yellow. 18k gold swivel dog clip and oversized spring clasp are both well working and secure.

I saw it. I fell in love with it. I had to have it. With a short text and a phone call to Jill, it became mine. I truly did not think that it would be possible for me to wear this beautiful piece as the original rolo-link chain that the stone hung from was only 16.5 inches in length. I needed at least a 20 inch chain. Undaunted, Jill told me that she would look for a longer chain in the same rolo-link style but with a lobster clasp that I prefer. Not long after I received a video showcasing the longer chain that Jill had found to replace the original shorter one.
