1951 Modernist Four Petal Flower Brooch with Chalcedony Stone in 18k gold - Stockholm, Sweden by Stigbert

A wonderful well-sized and graphic 4-petal flower brooch by the Modernist master, Stig Engelbert (signed STIGBERT). Each petal is formed as if the lines from his sketch book just popped into form around a perfect mystical periwinkle chalcedony cabochon. It looks a bit like a crystal ball, yes?

This brooch was made in 1951 by maker Stigbert for Engelbert Heribert in Stockholm, Sweden. Piece measures about 1.5 inch high by 1.7 inches wide. Cabochon measures 11.4 mm diameter. She has complete Swedish hallmarks for maker, year, gold purity and location. Condition is excellent.

Brooch has a beautiful pin back closure that opens by pushing/pulling the gold ball component in/out to release the sharp end of the pin. This is very secure, not to mention elegant!

Wear this flower at top button of your blouse, on your jacket pocket/lapel, on a head scarf, or of course to secure your silk scarf or shawl.
